The Worst Champions League Defeat Since 2008

by - November 05, 2017

2nd November, Thursday saw Real Madrid losing to one of the finest Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium. The defeat marked the worst defeat, for the Spanish giants, in group stages since 2008 where the European Champions lost to Juventus by margin of  2-0.

Dele Alli gained his side a comprehensive lead by scoring twice in the game. Later on the 65th minute Christian Eriksen went on to add up one more point for the Spurs. On the 80th minute Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal for Real Madrid which merely was just a consolation for the Spanish side.

With the fantastic Wembley win, Spurs sealed their position for the knockout stage of the Champions League with two games remaining.

Meanwhile Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to focus his player's focus on the next domestick challenge.

It gives great belief and confidence to everyone because it's a great result and we are in the next stage of the Champions League but it's so important now to keep feet on the grass,
We need to be ready to compete against Crystal Palace.
he told BTsports

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane , talking about the match said, Tottenham Hotspurs are one of the clubs which can win the Champions league this season.
I’m not worried and I never will be this season. We came up against a better team that put in a better performance on the night,
Yes, any team can win the Champions League and Tottenham are certainly one of them,
the coach of the year added.

The fans around the world are taking a dig on Isco , who have emerged to be one of the finest dribblers for Real Madrid in recent years. The so called Real Madrid fans feels like Isco's selfish play is one of the reasons for the heavy decline of Real Madrid's play. They are also questioning the management of Zidane. Can you please give it a break people? He won you two consecutive Champions League.

Injuries have always been a problem with the current Real Madrid squad. Many key players of the squad are injured which includes Kovacic , Gareth Bale and Keylor Navas. Which is making it harder for Real Madrid to win against teams like Girona.

Believe me, the best for Real Madrid is yet to come. Hala Madrid!
